Most common challenges resolved

  • Potential cause

    • Some hardware components have become unresponsive, e.g., relay, BLE/ NFC chip
    • The Reader is assigned to the wrong door

    Resolution

    1. Check reader assignment
    2. Check for Relay “click” on the unlock request
    3. Manually perform a power cycle by unplugging and plugging the device back into the power supply.
  • Potential cause

    • Bluetooth is not enabled on the user’s phone
    • Reader with BLE chip fail
    • Reader sensitivity is set too low
    • Motion Sense is disabled on the Reader
    • Wave to unlock not enabled (Android phones)

    Resolution

    1. Admin: Check that the reader settings are correct (ensure MotionSense is enabled and the reader sensitivity is set correctly)
    2. User: Check that their phone settings are correct (follow the appropriate iOS or Android setting instructions)
    3. Admin: Manually perform a power cycle by unplugging and plugging the device back into the power supply.

    Note

    If only a single end user is experiencing the problem, it likely has something to do with their phone.

  • Potential cause

    • A fault on one of the loads (indicates only fault in the four main relays, not a fault in the AUX).
    • The input operation voltage is present but, at the same time, is out of the working range (out of the 20 V- 28 V range)
    • There is a short circuit accident on the output
    • The load fault red LED light lights up to show the presence of the power problem.

    Resolution

    1. Unplug the Controller’s power adapter and unplug the output wires.
    2. Plug in the Controller’s power adapter without the output relay wiring.
      1. If the load fault is still on, it could be the power adapter itself.
      2. If not, power down the controller again and rewire.
      3. If the load fault turns on again, it’s a wiring issue.

    Note

    If you’re unfamiliar with wiring, contact the installer or a local tech/electrician.

  • Potential cause

    • The membership type is not configured in the Glofox Integration.

    Resolution

    1. Ensure all members have one of Glofox’s membership types assigned
